Most education laws say schools must treat all students fairly and not discriminate based on things like race, gender, or where you’re from, for example, the U.S. Equal Educational Opportunities Act bans discrimination and segregation in schools. Many European regions (like in Spain’s Basque Country) have rules to make education inclusive, meaning schools must support every student’s needs and help everyone succeed. At the same time, some places (such as Texas in 2025) have passed laws limiting diversity-oriented programs or discussions about gender and identity in schools.
